When you defined the aggregate tables in Universe then you need to define the awareness of the objects where to go and pick the aggregate values. Its called compatible or incompatible values

Hierarchy: It is order series of dimensions in a class. We can do multidimensional analysis if Hierarchy exists in Universe.

HiIam working in Businessobjects report designer.I had created one universe and also i generate reports using that universe.But client want reports like Developer2000(D2k type reports user interact that user select the value and generate rpt)What exactly is that, before executing any report intially it is ask someparameter, so, they want to select the parameter and generate that report.I had apply prompts at the query panel, it ok that it is ask prompt to enter or select the list of valuse and generate the report.Next when user open that existing report,it is open but not asking any prompt.So,i want that information that how to create report, that once u existing reportit is ask some parameter(prompts)Please do help me regarding this.Please send answer below id alsoabid.mscadoni@gmail.comThanks and Regards,abid ali

When ever you slect the filter then select -->prompt-->select the " prompt with list of values".

First you need to put the RANK function on the report for top 50 then you put the row level security for 50rows .................. I hope it will work...........

1.save to my computer there you can save in what ever format u want(pdf,excel..etc)

In BOBJ XI 3.1 Webi thick client is available, it gives option to use Universe, XLS and XML as the data provider. Webi from Infoview can use only Universe.

Hi, Yes you are correct. We can use multiple different data resources as dataprovider for deski whereas it is not possible in Webi(BOXI R2). but it is possible in BOXI R3 this is an advantage of this version.-Sridhar Subramani.

If you have only one look up table in loop then use Alias .If you have look up table that is on only one end of Join then use Alias to solve the join path problem.If you have more than one fact table use context to solve the problem.

Strange but not immpossible.You have to create a dataprovider by selecting others-->personal files.Now, you have to create a dummy object and when you are using that?in BO reporting then add that to filter panel and go for query results of dataprovider, then you can take that?and proceed.

Can you add the Cascading promprts in Business Objects? (Based on Country prompt selection you need to provide the option to select Sate/Province in the next State prompt. That means dynamically refresh the data load in the state list values)

I feel you are getting confused with Cascading LOVs and Cascading Prompts.In Business Objects XI, we have Nested Prompts (which you might call cascading prompts). And this is since 6.x version and there is no change in that.From XI, they have introduced Cascading LOVs concept.
