lcm of 3,5,7,9 is 945...if we divide 946 it will have remainder 1 but if we divide by 11 no remainder....

It is a simple logical ques. suppose the train takes t time to cover the dis. But when there occurs a problem , whether at a dis after travelling for 1 hour or further 50 miles; it must take more than time t(as it is its normal travelling time.).

Let x to power 1/9 = tthen, t^3- t = 60t^3 >> t (except for t=1)therefore,t^3 is approximately = 60Therefore , t = 4 and x=4^9= 262144

CORRECTION :There is a discrepancy of 5/11 mins in overlapping and it gains by this much time in 65 mins (Not 60 mins).................. Which means that :correct clock takes 65 & 5/11 ...

in a correct clock55 minutes are gained in 60 min60 min are gained in 60/55*60 min = 65 5/11 minbut now they got together in 65 minso gain in 65 min= (65 5/11 - 65) = 5/11 min
