I got the simplest method...I'll explain it step by step...seems to be lenghty but it is not.we know,Y is carried and any 2 digits between 0 to 9 sum up to a number less than 20.So Y must be 1ie. Y=1....

We already have lillies that have covered the pond in 20days... now they would cover another pond of double the size in one more day... hence another pond of same size would be covered in half a day.

The answer is 6. 3 trains would leave from the Washington during the total journey from New York and the train will also meet 3 trains that left at 4:30-3:00 and 1:30 hrs earlier from Washington.

How come the inverse sguare law is not valid when distance tends to zero? Suppose if the distance is not zero,if it is of the order of 10^(-30) or above, even then the force is much greater. And comming to the nxt, the effective distance is considered b/w the 2 bodies.
