I am unable to start my Informatica Repository Service, Even if I start the service, it stops immediately.i have windows server 2003 OSPlease, any one have a solution to this problem

1.SCD TYPE1 (Slowly Changing Dimension) : contains current data.
2.SCD TYPE2 (Slowly Changing Dimension) : contains current data + complete
historical data.
3.SCD TYPE3 (Slowly Changing Dimension) : contains current data + recent
historical data.

All depends on your code.In general transformation errors like, date conversions, in-compatible data for a port. etc may arise at transformation level.

May be you will encounter with connection faliure, other then that i don't think so, cuzserver will handle all the syntex errors and Invalid mappings.

Hey, what zaki told was correct.There are only two type: connected and unconnected.Mostly we use cache concept for connected, also only connected lkp will support SOME cache options.

Just use debugger to know how the data from source moves to target, it will show how many new rows get inserted else updated.

While creating flatfiles manually, we drag and drop the structure from SQ if the structure we need is the same as of source, for this we need to check-in the source and then drag and drop it into the Flatfile, if not all the columns in the source will be changed as primary keys.
