Boiler feed pump stages deliver high discharge pressure from pump to overcome the pressure inside the boiler drum and pressure losses from pipe connections, and also friction loss.

Boiler feed pump is a multi-stage centrifugal pump where no of impellers more than one usually >3 . Depending upon the boiler working pressure pump will select. The pump should have high positive suction to avoid cavitation, usually take more than 10m. feed water temperature will be more than>65'C.

The? function of jokey pump is to maintain the pressure in pipe line,?pressure switch set at hi/lo?to start the jokey?pump motor, in case the pressure drop that jokey pump can't build up the pressure, then the main pump automatically start.

Jockey pump is working to keep fire hydrant system in pressurised condition always.If any pressure decreases in the system, automatically hydrant pump starts immediately to cope up the required pressure or supplying the required water to the required area.

It is a device that has a flickering light..the light flickering intervals are know and a mark is made on the shaft whose rpm is to be measured..as the mark interrupts the light and based on the calculations the rpm is determined.
