Fusible plug is generally used to control temprature ineer boiler when volume of vapour is increasing opposite to water level. It will automatically turn off the furnace.

Fusible plug is used as a accessory in boilers.  It is used for the proper working of boilers.
It is a safety device which shuts off the working of the boiler when the temp. of boiler is very large and the boiler burst.
