Hi,

Following are the common things to be tested for UI

For windows - Size, Focus, Caption, close button, Focus, Control buttons, location adjustments

For formatting - font, color, frames

For text - label, content, spelling, scrolling,l inks, bullets and numbering, usability, internationalization, localization, null entry, data type, formatting

Also we should check for keyboard access, shortcuts and tab key usage

For testing any web application

1. We should first check the GUI of the website

2. Check that the page layout and design elements are consistent throughout the website.

3. Check that all the links are clickable and pointing to the right page.

4. Check how much load can your website take.

5. The performance of the website under heavy load.

You have to base all these things to create your test cases.

As per my knowledge we follow 6 things fro GUI testing:-

1) Check for Availabity of objects

2) Allignment

3) Spell checking

4) Data should declare in Specified name for example " Previous" not like this "<< "

5) Matching Fore and background colours

6) Over all check
