What is testing we are going to do when a New Build come to Testing Department (i mean whether it is smoke or sanity) and next test where r going to do please give with example?

When a new build come for testing we do first sanity testing is done B'cos to check whether the basic functionality is working fine are not

whenever we receive a build from development team first up all wewill conduct smoke testing.In this we will check presence of .exe file/url of build & also those r working r not.

after that we will go for sanity testing.In this testing we mainly concentrate on whether our application build taking input values or not.

after that we follow usability,functional,performance& security.

First we will do smoke testing.

This is done by testers to check each and every functionality of the application or bulid system before going into indepth testing.After that sanity testing,this is actually performed by the devolpers before putting the file in to the indepth testing.After that usability testing,system testing,perfomance testing etc...

first we wil test that wether the build is ready (stability)for testing or not  this is nothing but sanity testing

Hi All,

Whenever a build comes, it means that there might be a few modifications, few enhancements and few bugs which might not have been fixed in the previous version will get fixed in this build. Hence, the sole purpose of testing a build means that we will perform first of all SANITY Testing to ensure whether the build is ready/present to start the testing, then we have to perform SMOKE Testing to check the major functionalities of the software are working as intended and as was working in the previous version. Then we need to perform the REGRESSION Testing (very important) to see whether the previous version bugs have been fixed and the impact of these bugs on the other dependent modules and functionlities.
