Navigate to the design steps and right mouse click you will find options to save. select option Execl.

We need to import defects managed in Excel file into our TD project. How can we import and revert them to tickets.
We know there is an export add-in.

If you would like to link TD with other application then you can write your own code using he TD API's available. Search for the OTAG file it can help in understanding the API's. Click on Help documents etc you will see the Otag file.

Yes you can attach them to the Test Case or create a seperate folder in Test plan to store them.

Install Test Director on Windows Vista Problem
Hi,I am trying to install Quality center (9.x) 30 day free trail version in Windows vista i am unable to install it.I tried to install the same s/w in windows XP system it got installed .While installing problem i got is "ERROR IN COPYING TO ACTIONS TABLE"Please anyone help me how to install quality center in windows Vista operating system.

I think HP is not supporting QC on Vista yet. But which version of Vista you are using now? If its a home edition then it def may not work.

I installed TestDirector 7.6 on my PC which has Windows Media Center on it. Everything was working fine for a while. Now when I try to start TD, it gives error message, "cannot connect to database, the database version is older than 7.5, please update database". It started doing this after I installed LoadRunner on the computer. I reinstalled TD, but didn't work. Can anyone please give me some suggestions.

TD 7.6 is a very old version. Check which data base you using I hope it is your MS Access. Try uninstalling LoadRunner.

QTP 8.2 may not run properly with TD 7.0 but you should still be able to save your tests suggest trying it on your own.

Every time we try to log into Test Director 8.0 SP2 we get the message: Warning the request was sent but a response was not received. Test Director re-initialized the connection with the test director server. What can I do to fix this problem?

Looks there is some problem in connecting to the server from your machine. try this ping the server from your machine. if it works restart you TD server once and see it. if still does not work enable logging from site admin and see whats happening.

While executing the test case in Test Labjust fail the particular test step click on add defect in the same manual runnerit automatically connects to Add defect Tab.RegardsAnand

Sending?You can create/log defects in the Test lab, select the test case and select the runs.

Yes - Create an script/excel macro using TestDirector/QC API's to do this. But make sure you have accessed TestDirector atleast once on the client machine before you execute the macro/script (This will load TD API's on client machine).

QC administration - populating values from system defined field in an user defined field
I need to populate the data entered in releases tab (system defined field) into an user defined field in test plan for the test cases. I don't want the test cases to be linked to the requirements which in turn needs to be linked to the releases. I would like to filter out the test cases directly from test plan and also keep the history of the modifications.

What do you mean by Releases tab? is it the Releases module?what kind of data under the Releases module? it only have Name,Start Date and End Date.
