When you work with WinRunner, you can choose to save your tests directly to your TestDirector database or while creating a test case in the TestDirector we can specify whether the script in automated or manual. And if it is automated script then TestDirector will build a skeleton for the script that can be later modified into one which could be used to test the AUT.

We have been using an app called GenericSQLReport to get Excel and Access files of TD info which made our lives a lot easier to produce the reports we need. Upgraded to Test director version 9 and now GenericSQLReport.exe Does Not Work.. But since they upgraded to TD v9 from v8 last week it won't work. Any ideas ?I don't know much about SQL etc.but I managed to modify GenericSQLReport enough to do...

First Connect to Test Director/QC from QTP. This option can be seen in File Menu.Once its is done( after giving the login id,pw,project etc.), using Save/Save as you can save the QTP recordings/ automated cases created in QTP in TD/QC.

We cannot map the scripts in TD, because it is a test management tool, it gives the guidelines of the test management process for the easy reference utility purpose.

Winrunner is an automation tool, where we can do everything by automation ie; we first record then we run it. But test director is a test management tool where we can find every thing? in one place ie; (test case, writting testcase....etc).

In the right pane of the Quality Center Checker window, you can view a report of the verified components. The report displays description, status, and information on each branch that was verified. one can get the reports for requirements, test cases, test run etc.

You cant retrieve a test case once you delete it from test director. There is no provison as such for this to happen.

When I create the time and date of the test set it has to run. In the same date and time I want to run more than one testsets from the same test plan or from different testplans.
