Class A IP Address and Sub-Net Mask

We are using class A IP address i.e 10.0.0.0 and using sub-net mask 255.255.254.0 Why?

In class A one is network and other three host hence 255.255.255.0 will come You have to subtract 2 for end user connectivity one is broadcast and another one is initial. 255.255.254.0 will be used
