it having the inbuilt circuitary of microprocesser additional to the external memory,timer etc...but it performs only one particular function

Micro controller = micro processor + memory + interfacing features(ports) + additional features like counters.
A Micro controller can be directly connected to external devices. But a Processor needs a interface controller to connect with external input and output devices.

Generally, microprocessor is a integrating the CPU on a single chip and it has some additional features like memory, registers,flags,pointer etc;but micro controller means it has same operation as microprocessor but with the different features like counters,ram,rom, etc.
