You can change the data present in protected field by dynamically (through program) changing the attribute of the particular field to unprotected.

If a field is protected then the user cannot enter data into the field.

If the program allows, change the attribute of the field from protected to unprotected. Then you can change the value of the field.

No. If the attribute of a field in MAP is declared as PROTECTED, we cannot modify the data in the field.

If some parameters are dynamically set and send  as protected from the program  then we can update it from the program and re-send it on the screen as protected .
