Let the initial number of white and yellow balls be 'x'...Tennis ball company delivered 45 extra white balls..therefore the number of white balls is x+45...and the new ratio of white balls and yellow balls is 1/5:1/6..remiving the rational form...we get 6:5 and this is equal to x+45:x ratio...
       
                     x+45             6
                     -------   =      ---   => 5x+225=6x => x=225
                        x                5  
Therefore store originally order for 225 balls

According to me the Answer is 270....
x-white balls    y=-yellow balls

x=y

x+45/5 = y/6

solve above 2 eqs

x=-270    balls cannot be negative....

According to me answer is 225, bcoz, the given ratio is 0.2:0.1666, Simplifying we get 1.2:1 (that is there is 1 yellow ball for 1.2 white ball) By trial and error method, by substituting the given choices,225 is "THE" most
appropriate. However it took 3-4 min to solve. Friends come with an alternative method, which consumes less time.

(1/5-1/6)*x=45
after solving
x=1350;
No of yellow balls =(1/6)*x=225
i.e No of white balls =(1/5)*x=270
and the diff is =270-225=45
so answer is =270 white balls

Let there is x no of each ball, when 45 white ball is added total number of white ball = x+45 now accordingly
               x+45x=65
               x=225
so total no of white ball is 225+45=270

Given ratio is of white and yellow balls and it is 1/5:1/6.


=> 6:5
=> Therefore the total balls are in 11 parts.
=> so the total balls delivered must be divided by 11.
=> From the answers 450 + 45 is divided by 11, so the answer is a=>450
