What is the use of recording in QTP?While recording itself we might understand what are the defects.Then what is the need of recording?

QTP is a tool which is used for regression testing where you run or rather perform the same set operations with different set of inputs.so by recording we tell the tool how to
do the a specific task using a single set of input or test data and then mention our expected outputs by inserting checkpoints.so that the tool can carry on the same task with different sets of inputs provided by us. This saves a lot of time in real time situations and allows to carry on 24/7 testing.
