What is the difference between a capacitor and a condensor?

capacitor and condencer both are one and the same. when a dielectric material is placed in betwwen two conducting plates forms a capacitor. it is used to store energy.

The working of capacitor and condensor is same i,e they both are used to improve the kvar ratings.But for large transmission and distribution systam we use condensor.
Now question arises that what is condensor.
When we  run the synchronous motor above its rated speed then it behaves like a capacitor so for large industrial purpose we use condensor because for large application
purpose it is economical for user.

Main diff. b/w Condensers and capacitors are
i. Condensers are rotating while capacitors are static
ii.Smooth flow in KVAR can be obtained through condensers while it cannot be obtained through switching capacitor banks.
