Daemon
Daemons are nothing but the services which runs at the backend for e.g inetd is the deamon which takes care of all services like telnet , FTP etc . These daemons reads the configuration files like inetd.conf in which is kept in /etc.

LOC
Liquid Operation Control.
Which gives the information about the hardware and software supported by LOC.

Daemon is the service provider for any commands like. The Volume Management service is controlled by the /usr/sbin/volddaemon. another example :- Volume Management features automatic detection of CD-ROMs.However, it does not detect the presence of a diskette that has beeninserted in the drive until the volcheck command is run. This commandinstructs the vold daemon to check the diskette drive for any insertedmedia.
