What is character based testing environment?

Since character based testing environment does not contain any objects, images,bitmaps and graphical things we test Unix and Linux based applications. We use Xrunner and Astra Quick Test environments.

Correct me if iam wrong..

Based testing environment:Before testing start doing testing,test engineer check whether environment is ready for testing an appplication
