WinRunner and QTP are automated functional testing tools. They are predominantly used when regression testing happens in a large scale. Otherwise it is not economical both monetary wise and time wise to use such automated test tools. Test Director is used a Test suite where the entire testing process can be monitored right from the requirements phase to the defect phase. Test Director is very useful in preparing various reports/charts helping the project team. WinRunner can be integrated with Test Director and scripts can be run directly from Test Director.
