I've heard that a java web application can be tested by winrunner but is not flexible. It's recommended to use QTP tool for more reliability.

Hi

We find some diffculties, when we use Winrunner to test with the Java based web application,

but at the same time we dont find any problem in using the QTP to test the java based web application

these are some of the web application supported by QTP : XML,HTTP,WSDL,SOAP,J2EE, .net

So what i would suggest is to go for QTP to test the Java based we application,

Thanks

Ganesh

I dont know how it works with WinRunner..But winrunner is outdated and this is not winrunner forum..

QTP is the BOM  for testing Java based web app's. I recently used QTP 8.0 for testing some Java Applets..All I needed was a Java Addin and its all good from there...
