There are four methods of recording in winrunner process.they are as follows:

  1. Record: Winrunner records all the operations performed on the gui object. This is default recording method.
  2. Pass up:Winrunner instructs to record an operation performed on this class as an operation performed on the element containing object.Usually this element is a window and the operation is recordedas win_mouse_click.
  3. As object:Winrunner  instructs to record all the operationsperformed on gui object.
