A Set of attributes that bear on the capability of software to maintain its level of performance under stated conditions for a stated period of time.

Finding the mean time b/w system failure and system recovery. We should take care of the following in reliability testing.

 

  • Business logic performs as expected
  • Active buttons are really active
  • Correct menu options are available
  • Reliable hyper links

Realibility means our software should be error free,but there is no any specific tools to ensure that our s/w is error free.so, mostly companies uses some keywords.*MTTF-->Mean time to failure *MTTR-->Mean time to repair *MTBF-->Mean time between failure

Hi

Reliability means is the ability the system to perform and maintain its functions in routine circumstances, as well as unexpected circumstances.

Recovery Testing means we have to test if the system fails than how fast the system will be recover and comes the normal situation.

This is my undersatnding plesae correct me if i am wrong.

REliability is to test how cosistently your system is behaving i.e how reliable your system is

Recovery testing is to test how soon you application can recover from any failures/crashes.
