Load runner has got three main components.VUgen, Controller and Analyzer.The extentionof files in Vugen is .usr, files in Controller i.e scenarios created will be saved with extention .lrs and in analyzer with .lra.

Yes we can use LoadRunner for the desktop appliocation. When you start load runner VU generator, it asks you to select the type of protocal to use. There you have plenty of options from E-business application (web based) to client/server applications. Hope it helps

Dear ALL, I am using Load Runner 7.6 for Performance Testing. I have observed incompatibility of the application with Load Runner. Mercury people are working to identify the cause. In a situation like this, when tool has incompatibility, what is the better approach to test the application. I have identified critical processes and measuring the Resource Utilization for the same. Can anybody advice me, what more I am suppose to focus on. Regards, Zubair

My Load Runner version dont have liscense for TCP/IP, because of this I am facing difficluty in testing the application that are using TCP/IP protocol.
