What is the difference between transaction and transaction instance in Loadrunner?

The purpose of these two is not the same in LR scripts. Transaction is used to specify the end of transaction. Whereas transaction instance is used for performance analysis.

In the transaction instance you can capture the whether transaction has been completed or just started with message. And also it is very useful used during performance analysis.
