What is the difference between a defect and an enhancement?

Defect is in a problem or issue that causes the software to behave in an inconsistent manner with the requirements or needs of the customer.Enhancement is a suggestions given to improve the quality of an application, its an additional feature added to an application as desired by an end user.

Enhancement is adding some new functionality or feature in existing build.Defect is again bug but "Bug with its favourable conditions" which makes it defect.If bug is removed the defect will automatically vanished.

Yes..Acceptance testing is done at the User level in client's place where as all the other tests such as Integration,system are done at Developer's site to check if the system is ready to go for UAT(User Acceptance Test)
