You can overide the sql Query in Wofkflow Manager. LIkeselect * from tab_name where rownum<=1000minusselect * from tab_name where rownum<=500;This will work fine. Try it and get back to me if u have any issues about the same.

in db2 we write statement as fetch first 500 rows only.in informatica we can do by using sequence generator and filter out the row when exceds 500

HiYou dont need both filter and router to eliminate duplicate rows. One of them should be sufficient. However, use Source Qualifier for better performance.

You could not write the subquery in Filter editor. Because Filter editor is for specifying the conditions only. You can write the? subqueries in by source qualifier. There you can use the filter condition as well as write the subquery and overide SQL you can archive.

The subquery syntax is very similar to SQL.Still, you can see the navigator page in the left side of the editor page.we have ports,functions, etc there.you can double click on a fuction to find that funtion in your editor page.And the logic must be from you as obvious..

The Informatica's basic Language is SQL(Structered Query Language). It generates sql queries and that is executed against the database.Informatica is just a tool, that generates SQL queries based on the conditions you specify.

Besides the answers above, in Session properties -> transformations tab -> source qualifier ->SQL query - by default it will be the query from the mapping.  If you over write it, this is also called 'SQL override'
