To enable datastage engine follow these steps:a) Go to the "DSEngine" directory in Unix.b) now type the command ./uv –admin –startc) the datastage engine will be enabled/started.

The log files are stored at server.At the client side(windows) the log files are not stored.The logs are maintained in RT_Logn files on datastage server.Deleting logs:You can set Auto purge of job logs from datastage administrator to delete the log files automatically.

In Datastage sequence, there is a stage named "UserVariable_Activity", this can use to fetch the parameter. Create a new user variable in the uservariable_activity stage and for the expression part of it, you can simply give your parameter file path.
