A batch is running and it is scheduled to run in 5 minutes. But after 10 days the time changes to 10 minutes. What type of error is this and how to fix it?

If the batch is taking more time to execute(10 mins),it may be due to the performance issues.In such cases the performance optimizstion mesures should be taken.If without making any changes,time taken is getting more,it means that the data voule may have grown to large causing updates to take more time.May be there are server space issues which are  making the job to run slower.The server may be running out of memory causing page fault and in turn slowing down the entire process.there are many such points which need to be taken care of to avoid such behaviors.
