In BO also we can generate report from multiple data sources by merging two data providers at report level, however with universe we can connect to only one database unless they are not linked universes.

In Cognos, we can generate a single report from multiple data sources (homogeneous or heterogenous).  In BO, we can generate report from single datasource (multiple connections not allowed).

Two ways of saving the report

1.save to my computer there you can save in what ever format u want(pdf,excel..etc)

2.after exporting the report we need to schedule the report there we can select the options(pdf,excel,webi,email,file location...)

When we got loop in the universe, we can resolve loop for using alias and context. But there is no rule for going alias and context. But if we have too many to one converges on single table we go for alias.

Condition is applicable on the table set. It works same as where clause in SQL. Where as filter works on the result set, just like having clause in SQL.

Conditions should be applied at the designer level. where as the Filters are mostly used in reporting tools.

Condition fetches the data directly from database while filter just hides the data without interacting with the database.Condition works on query level while filter works on report level.Condition is used for better performance while filter is used only when we are unable to apply conditions.
