Hi, I am an administration executive and draw a fair salary. But, I have an liking towards software from my school days. I could not do my B.E, because of my financial constraints, hence, landed doing B.Com. Now that I'm fairly settled, I want to switch to s/w line. I am also doing a course in testing and MCA. Pls advise me what will be best at this point of time.

I would suggest finish your MCA and testing course. In the mean time prepare well for interview by making your aptitude,communication skills strong. You could study the questions and suggestions place...

I'm 2004 batch I.T student. For past 2years i never get into any job in software. I'm intrested in coding but now i got job in testing. Shall i continue in this job or change the field. Who had gud future testers or developers.

Whether it is testing or coding both have equal opportunities. As you have mentioned that you have not entered the software field for the past two years of your graduation.I would suggest you to take up this job and widen your knowledge in this field.All the best for your new job.

I cannot give a exact answer as it depends on the project you are going to take.BUt I hope that the concern or the company which is taking for project is aware of this and so would be giving a training initally to navigate through mainframes and then assign a simple project.

Whether it is testing or coding both have equal opportunities both career opportunities & Monetarywise. BUt you must widen your knowledge in whatever field you are and I would advice you not make switching of careers too often.

Priya what I would suggest you is since you have got ample time to spend you could learn some good testing tools and widen your knowledge and scope in testing area which would help you to shift if in case you feel like doing a shift in future.

You can go to the website of Capgemini and check for current vacancies or you coul also search in good job database websites like naukri if there is any vacancy for Java/J2ee in Capgemini. You could also pass your resume through good consultants saying your preference.

If you have knowledge in the area of ERP/CRM modules you could try for the shift. But I would suggest that having gained in a good technology like c++ and oracle 9i you could work in it for some more time and also in addition gain wide knowledge in ERP/CRM modules and try fr the same.All the Best.
