Need some guidance on how sql is used for manual testers

Hi Team, I have 3 Years of experience in manual testing, i am working on web application testing.. I really wants to change to any of the database testing like ETL, DWH,BI Testing methodoligies. I dont have proper contacts to know how they work and what sort of knowledge should have to work on those. Please guide me it realy helps me a lot.
