To install fix packs We need the following

1. Update installer
2. Appropriate fiX packs for WAS,SDK,HTTP SERVER AND PLUG-IN.

STEPS:

1. Stop the server before you apply the fix packs.
2. Use update installer to update the fix packs.
3. For WAS we need to apply WAS fix pack and SDK fix pack
4.For HTTP server we need to apply HTTP fix pack.
5.For PLUG-IN we need PLUG-IN fix pack and SDK fix pack.

check the logs to make sure all the installations done properly and make sure you have to apply the fix packs in a order like

when you are doing fix packs for Application server you have to stop only application server and you can do it at any time
Before we apply plug-in fix pack we have to apply for HTTP server fix pack.
