Assume there are around 100 users at a place, When they type any web address in the browser, all of them get the error message as "Page cannot be displayed". What could be the cause of this error? How will you troubleshoot it?

one reason to it could be that the webpage does not implemented to use threads

1)First go to cmd and try to ping the websit ex: ping www.google.com, if it replays ur net is alive else no
2)Check for the connection starting from ur router from where the connection has been started.
3)Check for the cables and crimping.

if you are able to IP address of the website and still users are getting same error.. Said site than must be blocked by the firewall..
Check sites blocked by firewall of router or any Antivirus like Mcafee if it is installed

possible the site may run out of the bandwidth and requesting page/service from a single website/server can cause DOS[Denial of Service] and so chances are you can get the message like "page cannot displayed" it may can be fixed my increasing the bandwidth.

If You have access from any organization check whether INTERNET connection such as LEASE line is Whether the status is Line UP or DOWN,or Broad Band such as BSNL etc,check connectivity, whether if You have proxy server Check the Status of server , whether it is on/off,Check the Proxy Setting in browser,Check the UPLINK Status ,If You Directly Managing with router through lease line, status is ok .Check the Switch Status whether is Power on/off,If Status is on,May be Restart the Switch,ChecK THE MULTIPLEXER OF MUX OR MODEM,If Applicable Check the status, Restart it ,IF in very Worse case Please restart the router.
MOST probably its a connectivity problem,whether LAN or INTERNET connectivity LEASE line or Broadband type of Connectivity you have used in organization or Check the Status of Device which will be provide by Service provider Restart it like MUX,MULTIPLEXER etc
