Think in the other way, first cut the cake into 2 circular pieces by cutting along the circumference then 2 cuts. One horizontal and other vertical
8 pieces we will get!

How about this?

Make two cuts to divide the cake into 4 (cutting on the diameter of a circular cake, the cuts perpendicular to each other). Now, place the 4 sectors of the cake one over the other. Make a cut such that the cut goes throw the centre cutting each of the cake sectors into half. So now we have done 3 cuts. Each sector is cut into two so 4*2=8.

Simple! cut the cake in circular form( First cut), then cut again in ' X ' shape(second and third cut) . u ll get 8 pieces!

hey its simple

first cut the cake into 2 hlf exactly- 1st cut(2pieces)
then cut the cake again perpendicular to the 1st one- 2nd cut(4 pieces)
then now cut the whole area of the cake from the middle so that 4 pieces gets doubled- 3rd cut(8 pieces)

simple....
first you place the cake...
make a first cut,results as 2 pices
now, place these two one above the other,will look like,half circle.
make the second cut,results as 4 pices
now, place these four one above the other,will look like a sector
make the third cut,results as 8 pices.
 I'm right!!!

Cut the cake horizantally (First Cut) will get two pices and the vertically (Second Cut) will get 4 pices and the cut it from middle thats the third one and will get 8 pieces

Kindly note that we are cutting circular cake. There is two step to get 8 pieces.

First cut the middle of the cake from side. now you will get two cake with. can you imagine?

Do not move the piece into two. just leave as it is, then start cutting from top.

Cut centrally in to two, than put half piece on second half. Now cut again centrally in to half-half. Now put half portion of two pieces on second same half & cut in to two equal portions. Now there is total 8 pieces.i.e 2*2*2=8

At first cut the cake horizontally into two circular pieces.stack one over another.Then make 2 cuts perpendicularly.each of the layers get divided into 4.

Cut vertically and horizontally - this gives 4 pieces at 45 degree angles - same as diving a wristwatch from 10:30-1:30 , 1:30-4:30, 4:30-7:30 and 7:30-10:30. Each piece is equal to 3 hours on a watch. Take the piece with 3 oclock portion and align this with the 12 oclock position. Similarly, align the 9 oclock portion with 6 oclock. Make sure all the center portions are aligned in one straight line which will pass through 3, 12, the cake center, 6 and 9. A single cut along this line will give 8 exact pieces equal to 1:30 hrs on a clock. This does not require stacking which can destroy the cake icing etc. Enjoy the perfect 8 equal pieces.
