Why C is called a FREE FORM MIDDLE LEVEL language?

There are 2 points to be discussed......

1. FREE FORM LANGUAGE - C is called FREE FROM beacuse the statements can be written from any position. Unlike COBOL, where each field/section needs to be started at a prefefined position.

2. MIDDLE LEVEL LANGUAGE - C language is capable enough to write the MACHINE LEVEL code (Binary Digits 0/1) as well as the HIGH LEVEL code (Code that can be understood by human being) therefore its called MIDDLE LEVEL Language.
