Black box testing for a web-based application is the same as for any other.  It simply means the tester does not consider any of the technology that went into producing the application while testing.  Black box testing any application involves introducing inputs and evaluating the outputs.  It really doesn't matter what's inside the box.

Black box testing a web-based application includes:

1) functional testing
2) GUI testing
3) usability testing
4) concurrence testing
5) accessibility testing
6) compatibility testing
7) security testing
8) interoperability testing
9) performance testing
10) load testing
11) stress testing
11) localization testing
