Well non functrional requirements are bascially the quality attributes like perfromance; maintainability; reliability ; security

On other hand functional requirement defines internal working of software; one can say behavior of the software.

In functional Testing Your going to test only functional requirements which invalues boundry value anaysis and Equlent Class partition techniques

in non functional testing your testing GUI (Look & feel)and behaviour of the apllication

Software   system requirements are often classified as functional ,non functional

Functional requirements for the system describe what the system should do.These requirements depend on the type of software being developed. These are statements of services the system should provide,how the system should react to particular inputs and how the system should behave in particular situations.

Non-functional requirements are constraints on the services or functions offered by the system.They include time constraints,constraints on development process.These often apply to the system as a whole.They do not usually just apply to individual system features .
