Hi

It depends on the compatibility of the business application to particular technology(j2ee/.net/c/c++/siebel/mainframes).

Choosing of any technology depends on many factors. They are

bussiness domain(e-commerce,telecom,networks etc.)

Cost factors-maintenance,performance

and so on.
