 the time interval is 2pm and 5.40 pm is 3.40hrs ie 220 mins

 it was said ago it was four times so the total interval is five

 220 /5 =44....so the time is 4.56pm....

Hey the naswer is 28min.

Approch:=

Let c current time & b is the position before 40 min.

Let t be the min remaining for the 5.

So as per the condition time between 2 & position B is 4t

   A [2]                    B                        C                          D[5]

     |         4t            |      40min          |           t                 |

 So  4t+40+t=(5-2)*60   so t=28min.
