Test plan is the task of team lead in which he can take help of project manager. But testers don't get involved in the test planning.

Hi,

I do not agree with Ekta. Test plan consists of somany things which include SCHEDULING the tasks including dates and time duration for every task. So, he will generally take the opinions and advises of team members. He will conduct a informal/formal meeting to schedule the tasks. He'll ask the Test Engineers to give their valuable advices in that meeting. Other than this, We can suggest the TL to use particular tools to test the application. In this way we take part in preparatin of Test Plan.

thank you

As per my knowledge Test Member are alway out of scope while preparing the Test Plan, Test Plan is a higher level document for Testing Team. Test Plan includes Purpose, scope, Customer/Client scope, schedule, HardWare, Delivirables and Test Cases etc.

Test plan Derived from PMP (Project Management Plan). Team member scope is just go through TEST PLAN then they come to know what all are their responsibilities, Delivirable of moduls.

Test Plan is just for input documents for every testing Team as well as Test Lead.
