I do belive the folowing methode is the most likly to use in your case.

Create your req. structure.

Create the test case structure and the test cases

Map the testcases to the apr. req.

Run and report bugs from your test cases in the test lab module.

The database structure in TD is mapping testcase to defects, only if you have created the bug from the apr. test case. Maybe you can update the mapping by using some code in the bug script module (from the customize project funktion),  as fare as I know, its not possible to map defects directly to an req.

yes u can view the defects directly with req. select a req in TD and click on associated defect button then  it displays defects associated wtith that  req.Any clarifications mail me on tamminas_ramu @ yahoo.co.in

Hello,
Yes we can Map Defects directly to Requirements.
For this we have to add a Defect from Defect Tab instead of going thru Test Lab->Execute,
Test-> Add defect to any step of test plan.
When we are going to add Defect directly thru Defect Tab -> Add Defect, It will ask only for requirement ID (and not for Test case or Test Plan) So it is automatically mapped to requirement ID. Thanks
