What is bug life cycle?
   (A). Bug Life cycle starts with the defect found by the tester.
          So it will be in the New state because the bug which the tester finds is New one. Next He will send this Bug to the developer and he will check the bug is genuine right) and make its status as Open This is the next state of the bug. Alter he will rectify the bug and make the status of the bug as Fixed and send to the testers. Here Testers will check the Bug status and does the regression testing and confirms that the bug is realized and changes the status as Close. So this is the another stage. Apart from this if the developer is not able to fix the bug then it is Can?t Fix stage. And If by chance the bug is not resolved then it goes into Defer state.

It depending on company to company, generally the SRS ID will be the test case ID.
