Let the minutes b x and the present time be Y

4x/60+3=y-50/60

y=4x+230/60

y+x/60=360

5x=130

x=26mins

present tim is 5hrs and 14mins

time req to reach 6 is 46mins

(Hi Sapthagiri. If the present time is 5:14 then 50 min ago it ill be 4:24. This gives time past three as 104 min. 4 times of this will lead us beyond 6.)

So check this out.. Its very simple.

1. Let the time past 3 be x min.

2. 4 times how many minutes is it to 6'o clock will be 4x.

3. Time between 3 and 6 is 180 min.

4. This 180 min includes x, 4x and 50.

5. So x+4X+50 = 180.

6. This gives x = 26 min.

7. Current time is 3:26 + 50 min = 4:16.

(Cross Check with the Question now.. Differenc between current time and 6 is 104 min, which is 4 times as many minutes past 3'o clock)

Sorry the second point should be like this..

2. 4 times time past 3 will be 4x(which is the time to reach 6 from now).
