Autolockbox is an interface programme run in receivables inorder to transfer receipts from the bank to AR.

The flow is:

payments by the customers can be of 2 methods either by cash or cheque and usually the later is followed. when the cheque is deposited with the bank in organisations name the bank follows a programme where it creates a folder for the organisation and stores a flat file in it. The flat file has the receipts received for that day. The flat file is read by the autolockbox programme with the help of functional set ups and the reeipts r transferred to AR.

so payment to the bank----->bank records receipts in a flat file------->FTP to import the flatfile------>autolockbox programme reads  the flatfile------>populates autolockbox interface tables-------->receipts r generated.

hope this explains u the programme
