How to document metadata about transformations ?

I am asked to create a detailed metadata about ,transformations used in particular fact table mapping.

How do i understand and create write up on what has happened to each port during each transformations?

By right click on port in target definition and choosing backward path , I could get complete path for that port.

Pls. advise

you need to do it manually.

In some cases you can see the effects by firing SQL queries in database directly.

You may also use debugger to see the path followed if u have the privillege.

But The best way is analyse and write the metadata manually.
