Hi

Parameter

A mapping parameter represents a constant value that you can define before running a session.  A mapping parameter retains the same value throughout the entire session.

Variable

A mapping variable represents a value that can change through the session. The informatica Server saves the value of a mapping variable to the repository at the end of each successful session run and uses that value the next time you run the session.

Parameters are constants in informatica , and they cannot be changed in a lifecycle of a mapping .Its a constant set before a mapping runs .

Variables can be changed during a mapping run .When you use variable Aggregate option is enabled to choose max/min which will take the maximum value of the variable in a mapping   run when max is chosen and similarly minimum value of the variable in a mapping  run when min is chosen .
