Hi

I think your question in valid

First write whether at what environment your sending the mails.(eg outlook,rediff)

Second and depends the information your are sending is secured are unsecured.

Third how mail ur sending is documents are text or graphics all the reasons depends

If u send the details requirement then only we can write specify test cases

What are you actually supposed to test?

For testing sending an email you can write test cases for.

1) Performance: By using connections from different ISP's ie the speed.

2) If your email id is POP compliant, then check if you can sent it using email clients.

3) If yor email can be sent using an attachment.

4) Maximum attachment limit.

5) Maximum mail size.

6) Sending to valid / invalid id's if mail is received / bounced back respectively.

Test Cases For sending the mails to client area i.e from your client side checking the mail


1.Check whether when you give the correct userid and password the mail account opens
2.Verify if it not opens give correct used id and password
3.Check whether it moves to home page of your mail
4.Check whether when you click inbox it navigates to your inbox mail
5.Check whether it displays from which user it is sent 
6.Check whether it has the subject
7.Check whether it is not belong to us kindly delete it
