QTP  is faster  than winrunner

where the wnrunnere application fails to check the functionality of web based application ,qtp works

qtp includes all features of winrunner and also includes additional features

qtp records in the form of tree view while winrunner records in the form of TSL

.

There is no much differences between QTP and Winrunner because both are mercury interactive tools.But in case of QTP it's Vb scripting and it's easy to handle than TSL.

As they told earlier winrunner doesn't support properly for web based application.... but according to me even Winrunner support for web based application but in QTP it's easy to handle and we have all the features of winrunner in QTP plus some additional features which will be helpful for scripting.

QTP and WR are both Mercury interactive productes.but QTP have some advatages over WR1.QTP have Key driven view-this give hirachical view of all actions,objects ,etcwhich helps even non-technical person to understand how testing is going on.(picture view gives very fast overview and idea of testing script) 2.QTP support Excel sheet for DDT,it support 1 global sheet and for each action it supportseperat sheet.3.Active screen is most important feacture in QTP.it captures all screens on which u hv donerecording. 4.QTP support web based testing.5.QTP script is divided in to actions.which help to educe complexity and increase reusability of script.6. We can add XML checkpoints also.7. QTP supports WR scripts also.8. QTP is based on DOM tech.9. QTP have smart object identifier which is not supported by WR.
