"System Development Life Cycle Model" is also known as the "Linear Sequential Model" (or) "Classic Life Cycle Model".  the Linear Sequential Model has the following activities.

1. System/Information Engineering and Modeling
2. Software Requirements Analysis
3. Systems Analysis and Design
4. Code Generation
5. Testing
6. Maintenance

Prototyping and Rapid Application Development Modeles are the examples of Linear Sequential Model

Prototyping Model
This is a cyclic version of the linear model.Prototyping Model

Rapid Application Development (RAD) Model
The RAD is a linear sequential software development process that emphasizes an extremely short development cycle.

I apologise to differ with you on the above made statements. WaterFall Model is referred to as Linear Sequential Model. As in the case of developing a project, the requirements may change at any phase according to the customer/client. This process will not be of much help in this case.
But whereas in developing a product, the requirements are freezed and then the development process takes place. It goes on step by step which appropriately suits the WaterFall Model.
