Hi, Writing test cases depends on FDR. So according to past experience for a medium to large project we can say that on an average 1 test case per requirement is a good assumption. This is bacuase some requirements can be combined to form 1 TC and vice versa. But for a small projects more test cases will be required to cover exception and negative test cases.

Hi!  There is no specific test metric for counting the  number of test cases. It depends on the  size & complexity of the project as our frnds said. Try to tell according to ur project . u can tell any number of test cases because some complex projects also need not have thousands of  test cases compared to small projects.
